Yarmouk University student wins Asian Youth Reporter Award

Irbid, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Hana Dayyat, a Yarmouk University’s Faculty of Media student, won the “Asian Youth Reporter project” course organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the 2026 Asian Games Organizing Committee, and the Jordan Olympic Committee.

She secured the award by an article inspired by American runner Wilma Rudolph, who overcame polio in childhood to become an Olympic champion in the 1956 and 1960 Games.

She said her participation drew on her background as a gymnast and coach, as well as her current studies in radio and television, adding that she aims to use media to promote perseverance and inspiring stories for young athletes.

Dayyat will join five other winners from Bhutan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Lebanon, and Sri Lanka at the 2026 Asian Games, where they will gain field expertise in sports journalism.
