
Housing Ministry Signs Contracts Worth RO 2.7m
for Projects in A’Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah

Sep (ONA) — The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning today signed 13
usufruct contracts worth more than RO 2.7 million for the implementation of investment
projects in the governorates of A’Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah.
Inked in
cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources,
the contracts constitute efforts to boost the economy and support food
security.
The signing
ceremony was attended by Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and
Urban Planning; Dr.Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries
and Water Resources; Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah; and Eng.
Hamad Ali Al Nazwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban
Planning for Housing; in addition to senior government officials, investors and agricultural sector entrepreneurs.
The signing
of the contracts reflects the government’s keenness to make the best use of agricultural land in establishing
sustainable projects that enhance local crop production and enable entrepreneurs
to contribute to economic growth in the governorates, in addition to achieving
economic diversification and enhancing food security.
It is worth
noting that the first half of this year 2025 saw the signing of more than 590
usufruct contracts. The approach is in pursuance of steps to maintain the rate
of investment across all sectors, consolidate the national trend of economic
diversification and generate added value from government lands.
