
Oman Participates in Riyadh
International Book Fair 2025
Riyadh, 2 Oct (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman is taking part in Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, which
kicked off in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today and will continue until 11 October.
Oman’s pavilion at
the book fair showcases a diverse set of Omani cultural and intellectual
publications featuring various disciplines. The exhibits include publications
from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth; the Ministry of Endowments and
Religious Affairs; the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism; Sultan Qaboos
University and the National Records and Archives Authority, in addition to private
Omani publishing houses and libraries.
Oman’s participation in this edition
of the book fair, which assumes regional and international significance, stems
from its keenness to consolidate relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at
various levels. It is also in pursuance of a drive to ensure the presence of Omani books in all Arab and international cultural book fairs and forums and to highlight Oman’s cultural communication with countries around the world..
About 2,000 publishing houses, representing more than 25 countries, are taking part in Riyadh International
Book Fair 2025, which attracts a large turnout of writers, intellectuals,
literati and readers, besides offering outstanding cultural programmes
that portray cultural interest at the Arab level.
This year’s cultural programme features more
than 200 activities, including workshops, lectures, dialogue sessions panels
and a children’s cultural platform that seeks to develop the skills of young
people and encourage them to engage in innovative competitions, literary and
recreational activities.
The book fair also includes a
“Business Zone” that will host specialized workshops and discussion panels
on books, bookmaking, copyright and licensing. It also offers opportunities for
dialogue among those who operate in the industry of writing and publishing.
Visitors to the book fair will have
an opportunity to meet intellectuals, authors and other stakeholders, to
sign memoranda of understanding and explore cultural initiatives presented by official
institutions, universities and community organizations.
