A’Seeb and Al-Bashayer to Face
Off this Monday for Ministry’s Volleyball Shield Final
Muscat, 17 Feb 2026 (ONA) — Oman
Volleyball Association will bring its 2025/2026 sports season to a close next
Monday by hosting the final match of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth
Volleyball Shield. The game will bring together A’Seeb Club and Al-Bashayer Club
at 9:00 PM on 23 February 2026 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
A’Seeb Club secured its place in
the final after defeating Majis Club three sets to two in the semi-finals. The
team now seeks to add another title to its record, having already been crowned
champions of the First Division Volleyball League Shield for the current sports
season.
Al-Bashayer Club, meanwhile,
booked its ticket to the final after defeating Sohar Club three sets to nil in
the semi-finals. The team hopes to claim the championship title, particularly
after losing the league title to its opponent ‘Seeb.
Majis and Sohar clubs are
scheduled to meet in the third and fourth place play-off match next Sunday at
the Sohar Sports Complex hall.
The competition’s matches began
on 14 November with the participation of 19 clubs: Salalah, Al-Nasr, Taqah,
Mirbat, Dhofar, Al-Ittihad, A’Seeb, Al-Bashayer, Sohar, Majis, Saham, Masirah,
Al-Shabab, Sur, Bahla, Samail, Dank, Al-Hamra, and Al-Khaboura. The tournament
followed a knockout system and featured 17 matches, in addition to the third
and fourth place play-off and the final match.
