Amman, March 8 (Petra) – Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Soud received in his office the outgoing UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Resident Representative, Nabil Assaf, marking the end of his tenure in Jordan.
According to a ministry statement, Abu Soud praised the fruitful efforts and constructive cooperation across various sectors, expressing gratitude to the FAO for strengthening partnerships in multiple fields.
He emphasized the deep collaboration with FAO to ensure sustainable water resources, enhance knowledge, build capacities, raise awareness, exchange expertise, and promote sustainable water use in agriculture.
The minister highlighted continued cooperation to achieve water and food security and expand regional and global partnerships to tackle water scarcity and climate change challenges.
Assaf, in turn, underlined the significance of Jordan’s initiatives in addressing water scarcity and promoting water awareness, noting that the Jordanian experience is pioneering in integrated water management.
