Baghdad, March 29 (QNA) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein reaffirmed on Sunday Iraq’s firm rejection of any attacks targeting Gulf states and Jordan, stressing that the security of fellow Arab countries is an integral part of Iraq’s national security.

Speaking via videoconference during the 165th session of the Arab League Council at the foreign ministers’ level, he said regional stability is a shared interest for all its peoples.

Hussein underscored Baghdad’s commitment to respecting state sovereignty and adhering to international law to avoid further escalation, noting that Iraq will not serve as a battleground for settling regional disputes, will not be a party to any conflict, and will not allow its territory to be used to attack neighboring countries.

He pointed out that the repercussions of the war have led to widespread suffering, affecting both civilian and military lives in Iraq, in addition to causing damage to government institutions, service facilities, residential areas, and diplomatic missions.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing communication with countries to support initiatives and joint efforts aimed at ending the war and returning to diplomatic solutions and political dialogue, in a way that mitigates harm to populations and regional economies and achieves security and stability for all.
