New York, June 1 (Petra) — The United Nations Security Council will
hold a briefing on Lebanon on Monday under the agenda item “The
Situation in the Middle East.”
France requested the emergency meeting to discuss recent developments
in Lebanon, citing “the continuation of Israeli military operations
in the south and its increasing incursion into Lebanese territory.”
An official from the United Nations Department of Political and
Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) is expected to deliver the briefing.
