Amman, June 4 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Thursday received the
European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights (EUSR),
Kajsa Ollongren .
During the meeting, Safadi and Ollongren discussed the strategic
partnership between Jordan and the European Union and ways to expand
cooperation across various sectors.
The two sides also reviewed regional developments and efforts aimed
at promoting security and stability.
Calling for respecting international humanitarian law, the duo
discussed cooperation avenues in this field, including through the
high-level international conference, “Upholding Humanity in War,”
which Jordan will host on December 7, 2026.
Safadi reaffirmed the importance of Jordan’s partnership with the
European Union, expressing the Kingdom’s appreciation for the bloc’s
support for Jordan’s development efforts and assistance in addressing
the impact of regional crises on the Kingdom.
