Beirut, June 13 (Petra) – Two people were killed on Saturday in an
Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir Zahrani in the Nabatieh
district and a third died in a raid on Ma’raka town in the Tyre
district of southern Lebanon, according to a Lebanese security
source.
It said Israeli war jets were carrying out a series of airstrikes on
several areas of southern Lebanon, and artillery shelling was
reported in a number of locations in Nabatieh.
Israeli forces also demolished homes and government buildings in the
key town of Bint Jbeil, it said.
The source also said the Israeli army was continuing an advance on
the Arnoun-Zafata and Al-Ma’bar axes in the Nabatieh district, with a
number of military vehicles reaching the town of Kfar Tebnit in an
advance towards Ali Taher Hill amid heavy artillery bombardment.
