Amman, June 14 (Petra) — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan held talks on
Sunday with World Bank Managing Director for Operations Anna Bjerde
to enhance the strategic partnership and expand cooperation across
key economic and development priorities, while aligning future
collaboration with the Kingdom’s evolving economic and development
agenda.
The talks, attended by Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation Zeina Toukan, focused on strengthening joint cooperation
in support of Jordan’s reform path and development priorities across
multiple sectors.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the long-standing
partnership with the World Bank Group, praising its continued support
for Jordan’s economic reform efforts and development programs.
For her part, Bjerde commended Jordan’s reform and development
progress, reaffirming the World Bank Group’s commitment to supporting
major national projects in energy, transport, and water
infrastructure, as well as initiatives in education, health, and
digital transformation.
She also highlighted continued support for capacity-building
programs, knowledge transfer, and policy development aligned with
Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision and its strategic objectives.
