Aqaba Introduces Digital System to Streamline Truck, Logistics Traffic

Aqaba, June 18 (Petra) — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority
(ASEZA), Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), and AD Ports Group on
Thursday launched the operations of Maqta Ayla Digital Solutions to
accelerate digital transformation in port and logistics services and
strengthen Aqaba’s position as a regional trade hub on the Red Sea.

Maqta Ayla Digital Solutions is a Jordanian-registered company
established through a strategic partnership between ADC and AD Ports
Group through Noatum Ports, the Group’s international ports operating
arm. It will manage, operate, and develop the Aqaba Truck Control and
Monitoring Project through an integrated digital system designed to
improve operational efficiency and logistics services in the Aqaba
Special Economic Zone.

The company has completed the first phase of Aqaba’s truck traffic
management project, which aims to regulate truck movement, improve
transport flow, and reduce waiting times. The system currently
handles between 3,500 and 4,000 trucks daily, with record volumes
exceeding 4,500 on some days, up from about 2,000 when the project
was launched in 2005.

ASEZA Economic and Investment Affairs Commissioner Mohammad Abu Omar
said the increase in truck volumes reflects Aqaba’s expanding role as
a regional logistics hub. He said ASEZA views Maqta Ayla as a
strategic partner in building an advanced business environment based
on technology and innovation.

Abu Omar added that the company’s digital solutions will help improve
port and logistics operations, enhance service efficiency, and
improve the experience of investors and users.

ADC Chief Executive Officer Hussein Safadi said the launch marks an
important milestone in developing Aqaba’s digital infrastructure and
reflects the success of ADC’s partnerships with leading regional and
global institutions, particularly AD Ports Group.

Noatum Ports Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Tamimi said the launch
represents a new step in AD Ports Group’s strategic partnership with
Jordan and underscores its commitment to providing advanced solutions
that support the development of ports and logistics.

Tamimi added that Maqta Ayla Digital Solutions will help improve
supply chain efficiency and streamline operations through digital
technologies and artificial intelligence, creating added value for
partners and users.
