JFDA requires prior approval for distribution of donated food

Amman, June 21 (Petra) — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration
(JFDA) has stressed the need to obtain prior approval before
providing or distributing any food items as donations by any entity,
including charitable organizations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the JFDA said that prior
authorization is required to ensure that food products are handled in
accordance with approved health and safety regulations governing the
distribution, transportation, and storage of food items.

The administration noted that it is monitoring compliance with these
requirements and warned that the necessary legal and administrative
measures will be taken against violators in cooperation with the
Ministry of Social Development, the General Union of Voluntary
Societies, and other relevant authorities.

The JFDA also called on the public to report any observations,
complaints, or inquiries through its toll-free complaints hotline at
117114, via WhatsApp at 0795632000, or by email at [[email protected]].
