Jerash/Ajloun, June 22 (Petra) — Authorities in the Jerash and
Ajloun governorates have finalized logistical and organizational
arrangements to host mass public screenings for the national football
team’s World Cup match against Algeria, officials said on Monday.

Jerash Governor Malik Khreisat said the governorate has completed a
comprehensive organizational plan to host the public event within the
city’s ancient archaeological site. A committee led by the deputy
governor has been established, and administrative officers have been
assigned across screening venues. Khreisat added that coordination
with relevant authorities is underway to ensure crowd safety and
smooth traffic flow.

Atef Odaibat, former President of the Higher Council for Youth and
former Minister of Labor, said the national team’s World Cup campaign
represents a historic milestone that showcases the capacity of
Jordanian youth to compete on a global stage. The widespread public
mobilization around the squad, known as the “Nashama,” reflects
national unity and pride, he said.

Mohammad Bani Yaseen, head of the Greater Jerash Municipality
Committee, stated that the municipality has deployed its resources to
support organizational efforts and provide essential services at the
broadcast sites to accommodate visitors and maintain the city’s
status as a key cultural and tourism hub.

Ismail Al-Aroud, head of the New Kufranjah Municipality Committee,
described backing the national team as a collective civic duty,
noting that the participation of local youth and families in these
public zones reflects strong community solidarity.

Issa Al-Tawalbeh, Director of Ajloun Youth Directorate, confirmed
that travel arrangements for fans have been finalized. The
directorate, in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and local
partners, has secured 11 buses supported by the Jordan Tourism Board
to transport spectators from various areas of Ajloun to the
archaeological site in Jerash to watch the match.

Adnan Freihat, coordinator for the All Jordan Youth Commission in
Ajloun, added that the mobilization of young volunteers and
spectators highlights their active engagement in national events,
presenting a positive image of Jordanian youth during the global
tournament.
