Irbid, June 27 (Petra) — The Khalid Bin Al-Waleed Municipality has
invited citizens to support Jordan’s national football team in its
upcoming World Cup match against Argentina by attending a live public
screening on a giant screen set up at the Umm Qais archaeological
site on Sunday morning.
The screening is scheduled for 5:00 a.m. Jordan time, matching the
kickoff of the national squad’s historic fixture.
Rawya Gharaibeh, head of the municipal committee, said the initiative
aims to provide an ideal atmosphere for fans to follow the historic
match and back the national team’s journey. She noted that choosing
the ancient archaeological site of Umm Qais blends the historical
value of the location with a major national sporting event.
Gharaibeh added that the municipality has prepared the venue with all
necessary arrangements to ensure the comfort of attendees,
emphasizing that the invitation is open to the general public to
rally behind the team for the big match.
