Al-Mansouri: Ministry Moving Ahead with Integrated National Animal Breeding Improvement Program

KHARTOUM, July 23, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri affirmed that the ministry is moving ahead with the launch of an Integrated National Animal Breeding Improvement Program, describing it as a key pillar for supporting livestock production hubs, enhancing food security, and increasing the sector’s contribution to the national economy. Al-Mansouri made the remarks via video conference at the closing session of the First Virtual Workshop on the Proposed National Animal Breeding Improvement Plan, organized by the General Directorate of Animal Production Development at the ministry’s headquarters in Khartoum. The event brought together representatives from government institutions, universities, research centers, the private sector, and relevant organizations. He said the workshop, which brought together leading experts and specialists, would help formulate practical and implementable recommendations, paving the way for a national program based on scientific principles and aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).BH/BH
