Minister Meets President of Global Esports Federation
Muscat,
Sep 13 (ONA) — Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and
Youth met today with Sir Paul J. Foster, President of the Global Esports Federation.
During
the meeting, the two sides discussed the reality of gaming and esports and
their rapid growth worldwide, and explored ways to enhance their presence in
the Sultanate of Oman. The two sides also reviewed opportunities for
cooperation and the exchange of expertise in relevant fields.
Furthermore,
the two sides discussed ways to develop the esports ecosystem, support national
talents and competencies, and benefit from global expertise and experiences, in
a manner that contributes to creating a stimulating environment for the growth
of this sector, expanding its practitioner base and enhancing the Sultanate of
Oman’s presence in regional and international events and championships.
The
meeting was attended by Sabaa Said Al Busaidi, Chairperson of the Omani Gaming
and Esports Committee.
