Brussels, July 24 (QNA) – The Royal Belgian Football Association announced today the appointment of Mark van Bommel as the new head coach of the senior national team, succeeding Rudi Garcia, who left the role four days ago.
In a statement published on its official website, the association said the 49-year-old Dutch coach had signed a contract to lead Belgium through 2028.
Under Garcia, Belgium reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, before being eliminated by Spain, which went on to defeat Argentina in the final to win the title. (QNA)
