Qatar Qualifies for 2026 FIBA U-18 Asia Cup

Doha, July 30 (QNA) – Qatar officially qualified for the 2026 FIBA U-18 Asia Cup finals after defeating Oman 80-67 in the third round of the Gulf qualifiers held in Doha.

The countries taking part comprised of Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Qatar secured its qualification with a strong performance against its Omani counterpart. The top scorer in the match was Abdulla Yassin, who scored 38 points. Oman’s Adam Suleiman came in second after securing 17 points for his team.

With this win, Qatar achieved three consecutive victories and raised its tally to six points. Qatar officially secured one of two qualifying spots for the FIBA U-18 Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Ahmedabad, India, from August 13-23. Bahrain secured the other Gulf spot with the same points tally.

Qatar will face Bahrain next to determine which team ranks top of the Gulf qualifiers. (QNA)
