Diomandé Takes
Part in Leipzig Training as Real Madrid Move Nears Completion

Leipzig, 27
Jul 2026 (ONA) — Ivorian rising star Yan Diomandé reported for training at RB
Leipzig’s facility today alongside other World Cup returnees as the squad began
preparations for the new season.

The
19‑year‑old, together with returning internationals including David Raum,
underwent mandatory medical checks and fitness tests — despite the player and
his representatives already treating his move to Real Madrid as a done deal.

Transfer
expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Diomandé is on his way to the Spanish capital,
while Germany’s DPA news agency reported that Leipzig has yet to make an
official announcement, with several details still under negotiation.

Diomandé is
expected to join Real Madrid for a fee exceeding €100 million ($114 million) on
a contract running until the summer of 2031, though neither club has issued an
official statement.

Leipzig had
hoped to keep their young star for at least another season, having previously
turned down a €100 million offer from Liverpool during the World Cup, as well
as an initial bid of the same amount from Madrid.

Leipzig may
reconsider their position and agree to Diomandé’s departure if they receive an
offer of at least €120 million, given the attractive profit margin on a player
they signed just a year ago for €20 million from Spanish second‑division side
Leganés.
