Oman Condemns Targeting of
Bahrain, Kuwait and Commercial Vessels in Strait of Hormuz, Calls for
De-escalation

Muscat, 8 July 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman has condemned the military strikes targeting the territories
of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, as well as the attacks on
two commercial vessels—one Saudi and one Qatari—in the Strait of Hormuz. Oman
affirmed its full solidarity with its fellow GCC nations in all measures aimed
at preserving their security, stability, territorial integrity, sovereignty and
national interests.

In a statement issued today by
the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman further stressed that the escalating
military tensions in the region pose a direct threat to regional security,
maritime safety, the free flow of international trade and the stability of
global energy supplies. It reiterated its unequivocal rejection of any acts
that undermine the security of states or endanger civilian and commercial
shipping.

Oman calls upon all parties to
exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions, prioritize dialogue and diplomatic
solutions, and commit to the full implementation of existing understandings, in
support of ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and security in the region.
