Finance Minister Issues Directives to Modernize Ministry Performance

Khartoum, 4 August 2026 (SUNA) – Finance Minister Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim issued directives to improve the ministry’s performance, focusing on completing digital transformation, automating transactions, strengthening financial reform systems, and adopting modern government procurement mechanisms. The directives also emphasized improving coordination with government institutions, enhancing electronic payment and collection systems, monitoring state-owned companies, expanding transparency, and supporting efforts to reform public finance management. The ministry confirmed plans to advance payroll automation, electronic invoicing, expansion of the tax base, and implementation of a digital procurement platform to promote efficiency, transparency, and integrity. It also reaffirmed commitment to meeting priority government expenditures, including employee compensation, pensions, support for vital sectors, health insurance, and agricultural production inputs.BH/BH
