Khartoum, 4 August 2026 (SUNA) – Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minawi said that the battles of Hajar Marfaein and Bir Seleiba represented a heroic epic in which the Sudanese Armed Forces demonstrated that strong determination can overcome all acts of aggression. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Minawi said that the Armed Forces and their supporting forces achieved a battlefield victory in fierce confrontations, announcing the killing of Major General Mahdi “Jabal Moon” during the battles, describing it as another loss for the Dagalo family militia. Minawi congratulated the forces involved in the Hajar Marfaein and Bir Seleiba battles on this achievement, expressed condolences for those killed, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. He affirmed that their determination would not weaken and that they would continue until security is restored and the land is protected, stressing that victory belongs to those who stand firm and fight in defense of their homeland and people.BH/BH
