Registration Opens for Junior, Youth Handball
League Competitions

Muscat, 11 Aug 2026 (ONA) –
The Oman Handball Association has opened player registration for the Junior
Handball League (birth years 2010–2012) and the Youth Handball League (birth
years 2008–2009) for the 2026/2027 sporting season. Registration will remain
open until 6 September.

The early registration window has
been introduced to afford clubs sufficient time to complete their submissions
and finalize the official participant lists for both competitions, which will
then be distributed into groups in accordance with the approved competition
format. The Association has established a number of conditions and procedures
governing player registration, including the completion of medical examinations
and the signing of the registration form by both the player and the club
secretary. In the case of loaned or released players, an official letter from
the club must also be attached.

The Association has emphasized
that only officially approved forms will be accepted, and that photocopied or
scanned copies will not be recognized. It has also permitted the inclusion of
up to four junior-category players on a youth team roster, provided that their
registration is completed in full compliance with the approved regulations.

A total of 13 clubs have
expressed interest in the Junior League, namely Oman Club, Muscat, Masirah, Nizwa,
Al Amerat, A’Seeb, A’Rustaq, Al Khaburah, Saham, Ibri, Al Bashayer, Al Ittihad
and Majis. Meanwhile, 12 clubs have indicated their intent to participate in
the Youth League, namely Al Ittihad, Oman Club, Muscat, Masirah, Nizwa, Al Nasr,
Al Amerat, A’Seeb, Al Oruba, Al-Khaburah, Saham, and Taqa.

The Junior League is scheduled to
commence on 25 September, while the Youth League competition will get under way
on 2 October.
