Jeddah, August 14 (QNA) – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) warned of the grave risks posed by the announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities of their intention to take unlawful measures and grant illegal powers, as part of plans to implement the illegal annexation and impose the alleged “Israeli sovereignty” over the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
OIC General Secretariat reaffirmed that the Israeli occupation and colonial settlement enterprise, as well as all measures, entities and institutions associated with it, are illegal, and that all acts emanating from them constitute flagrant violations of international law, relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice.
The General Secretariat renewed its call upon the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to compel Israel, the occupying Power, to put an end to its policies and practices based on killings, settlement, annexation, systematic terrorism, blockade and forcible displacement, and to comply with its obligations under international law, relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and the Charter of the United Nations.
It also called for activating the international justice process to ensure accountability and legal prosecution for all perpetrators of Israeli occupation crimes in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in accordance with international criminal law. (QNA)
