Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem, received the credentials of four new ambassadors to the Republic of Sudan on Sunday and Monday, August 23–24, 2026, during official ceremonies held at his office at the Ministry Complex in the capital, Khartoum. The credential ceremonies included the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Danladi Yakubu; the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Al-Sadig Sillah; the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dr. Elkhan Polukhov; and the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Silvio Mignano. The Foreign Minister welcomed the new ambassadors and wished them success in their diplomatic missions, stressing Sudan’s commitment to developing and strengthening bilateral relations with their respective countries in a manner that serves common interests and promotes cooperation across various fields. The ambassadors, for their part, conveyed greetings from their respective foreign ministers to Salem and affirmed their governments’ commitment to strengthening relations with Sudan and expanding prospects for cooperation in a way that reflects the depth of ties between Sudan and its brotherly and friendly countries.BH/BH
