The General Union of Sudanese Students commended the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Darfur Regional Government, the Ministry of National Education, and relevant international organizations to address the issue of Sudanese students in eastern Chad sitting for the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations. In a statement, the Union said that attention to the educational needs of Sudanese students in neighboring countries reflects a national responsibility toward students whose lives have been disrupted by exceptional circumstances caused by the war. The Union praised the efforts of the Darfur Regional Government and the Ministry of National Education to overcome obstacles and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure that students can exercise their right to sit for the examinations. It reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with official and community institutions to defend the educational rights of Sudanese students wherever they may be and to support efforts aimed at ensuring equal educational opportunities. The Union called for continued coordination among the relevant authorities to facilitate examination procedures for students in eastern Chad and safeguard their academic future.BH/BH
