Women’s Handball World Cup in Tashkent
Muscat, 30 August 2026 (ONA) — The
committee tasked with the International Handball Federation (IHF) selected an Omani
continental refereeing team (consisting of Sultan bin Saif Al Siyabi and Salim
bin Saif Al Siyabi) to run the competitions of the IHF Trophy for women. The competitions
will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 13 to 17 October 2026.
The step reflects confidence in the
ability of Oman’s national cadres to officiate tournaments and events organized
by the IHA. It constitutes a new milestone in the Omani refereeing team’s
presence in the global arena, as well as an embodiment of the development
taking place in the sports sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
