Rufaa, August 29, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim visited East Al-Gezira Locality on Saturday, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Health in Al-Gezira State, Dr. Osama Abdel-Rahman Ahmed Al-Faki. During the visit, the Minister inaugurated the Al-Shawarab Health Centre in the Wad Rawah Administrative Unit and inspected the newly constructed Sheikh Makki Hospital. The tour also included the Abu Hareera Villages Complex Health Centre in the Tambul Administrative Unit. The Minister reviewed the level of services and the requirements needed to operate the health facilities and provide comprehensive healthcare services to citizens. He expressed his pride and appreciation for the significant efforts made by the East Al-Gezira community in constructing and rehabilitating health facilities, describing the achievements of local residents as a model of community contribution that deserves further support and the completion of all operational requirements. For his part, the Acting State Minister of Health affirmed his Ministry’s continued efforts to rehabilitate and operate health institutions across Al-Gezira State, announcing the upcoming opening of the Emergency Hospital and the Trauma Hospital in Wad Madani. Meanwhile, the Executive Director of East Gezira Locality, Balla Abdalla Khojali, praised the strong community efforts that distinguish the people of East Gezira, noting that citizens have consistently taken the lead in development and reconstruction efforts and that the state must therefore build upon and complete the work initiated by the community.BH/BH
