Amman, Sept. 6 (Petra) — Jordan and France discussed expanding
defense cooperation and military coordination on Sunday, with talks
focusing on joint efforts to address shared security challenges and
bolster regional stability.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Majdi Mohammad
Al-Harasis held the talks with a French military delegation led by
Brig. Gen. Yannick Bossu at the General Command of the Jordan Armed
Forces-Arab Army (JAF).

The meeting explored ways to advance military cooperation, strengthen
coordination and expand the exchange of expertise between the
Jordanian and French armed forces in areas of mutual interest.

Al-Harasis stressed the importance of broadening defense cooperation
and coordinating international efforts to address challenges
affecting security and stability, highlighting the deep-rooted
military ties between Jordan and France.

Bossu, for his part, praised Jordan’s role in supporting regional
security and stability and emphasized the importance of continued
military coordination and cooperation between the two countries.

Senior JAF officers and the French defense attaché in Amman attended
the meeting.
