Wellington, September 20 (QNA) – Rocket Lab, a global specialist in space launch services and systems, has launched a new Earth observation satellite for Japan’s Synspective, as part of a mission carried out by an electron rocket from Launch Complex No. 1 in New Zealand.

The company stated that the rocket succeeded in placing the 12th StriX satellite within the constellation of the Japanese-Earth observation company, in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 572 kilometers.

The company explained that the mission, called Owl By The Dozen, represents the 96th flight of an electron rocket, and the company’s 17th launch this year.

The satellite uses artificial aperture radar technology within a constellation that provides data to support urban development planning, construction and infrastructure monitoring, and disaster response.

Rocket Lab is scheduled to carry out 15 additional missions dedicated to Synspective until 2030, to complete the deployment of its satellite planet. (QNA)
