Oman Participates in GCC Ministerial Council Coordination
Meeting in New York

New York, 21 Sep 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman took part in the coordination meeting of the GCC Ministerial
Council, held today at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom
of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York. The meeting took place on the
sidelines of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by Ambassador
Omar Said Al Kathiri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the
United Nations.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdullatif
Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and
President of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, with the
participation of representatives of the member states and Jassim Mohamed Al Budaiwi,
GCC Secretary General.

The meeting addressed the
foremost topics and issues of common interest on its agenda, and coordinated
positions on the subjects scheduled for discussion during the eighty-first
session of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as preparations for the
joint ministerial meetings between the GCC states and a number of countries and
international groupings.

The participants also exchanged
views on developments and emerging trends in the regional and international
situation and their ramifications for the security and stability of the region,
and explored avenues for strengthening joint Gulf coordination and cooperation
in addressing various current issues and challenges.
