Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) — Amman will host the first conference of
the Arab Worldwide Freight Alliance (AWFA) on Wednesday, bringing
together representatives of 100 shipping and logistics companies from
18 Arab countries.

The event will provide a platform for companies operating in
shipping, customs clearance and logistics to explore new business
opportunities and strengthen cooperation across the region, AWFA
President Awdah Ramahi said Tuesday.

A key feature of the conference will be the launch of the first
Jordanian-Arab platform dedicated to connecting companies and
institutions in the sector and facilitating partnerships between
them. The initiative is intended to help build a more integrated Arab
transport and logistics network.

The conference will feature discussions on the Economic Modernization
Vision and its role in enhancing Jordan’s position as a logistics
hub, as well as the future of Arab supply chains and how the sector
can turn current challenges into new opportunities.

The agenda will also address the role of Arab women in logistics,
while participants will hold business-to-business meetings aimed at
developing commercial ties and exploring potential partnerships among
Arab companies.

Ramahi said the new platform is designed to bring the various players
in the logistics industry together under a single network, giving
member companies greater opportunities to exchange expertise, develop
commercial partnerships and expand their reach into new markets.

He added that the platform would also support efforts to improve the
efficiency of logistics operations and services by connecting
companies through an integrated Arab and international network.

The AWFA is seeking to establish a strong and effective Arab network
that can help member companies access new markets and business
opportunities, deepen cooperation and contribute to a more connected
and integrated future for the region’s logistics sector.
