Saudi Arabia’s Voluntary Carbon Market Fuels the Shift to a Low-Carbon
Amman, Oct. 3 (Petra) — The Ministry of Youth hosted Saturday the
president and board members of Saudi Al-Thahab Sports Club, in the
presence of Minister of Youth Raed Adwan, Vice President of the
Jordan Football Association (JFA) Marwan Juma, Al-Thahab Club
President Khalid Al-Mutairi, Ministry of Youth Secretary-General
Mazen Abu Baqar, and a number of Jordanian club presidents.
Al-Adwan stressed the depth of the brotherly relations and ties
between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, whose foundations were laid by His
Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in various fields,
particularly youth and sports.
He explained that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, attaches
great importance to the sports sector, noting that the Kingdom has
become a main destination for sports clubs. He pointed out that the
ministry translates royal directives by working to prepare and
develop sports infrastructure in service of the youth and sports
movement in the Kingdom.
He added that hosting Arab clubs and sports teams in the ministry’s
youth and sports cities and facilities contributes to enhancing
sports cooperation and exchanging expertise among Arab clubs, noting
the ministry’s keenness to make sports facilities available to Arab
clubs and teams to hold their training camps and benefit from the
potential available in youth cities.
For his part, the Al-Thahab Club president expressed his appreciation
for the Ministry of Youth for the facilities it provided to the club
during its stay in the Kingdom, affirming that the club experienced
great hospitality from the Jordanian people and a warm reception from
the Jordanian government, reflecting the depth of the relations
between Jordan and Saudi Arabia at both the leadership and popular
levels.
He affirmed that holding the training camp in Jordan represents an
important experience for the club, praising the sports facilities
provided by the Ministry of Youth and valuing the cooperation the
ministry showed during the camp.
For his part, Juma affirmed the depth of relations between Jordan and
Saudi Arabia, especially in the sports field, stressing the
importance of hosting football training camps for their contribution
to exchanging sports expertise and promoting tourism.
The reception of Saudi Al-Thahab Club comes on the sidelines of the
training camp the club is holding in Jordan from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8
in preparation for the Saudi football season, with the team training
at Prince Mohammad International Stadium in the Prince Mohammad Youth
City in Zarqa Governorate.
