Means of Enhancing Cooperation

Muscat, 4 October 2026 (ONA) — The
Ministry of Economy today held a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank
Group to discuss opportunities for promoting technical cooperation and exchanging
expertise in the field of the circular economy. The World Bank Group’s delegation
is currently on a technical visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the Ministry
reviewed key outcomes of the Sultanate’s national circular economy project. The
Ministry pointed out that the outcomes of the project included identifying the
circular economy gap, setting a national baseline and devising a roadmap for
priority policies—with the prime objective of realizing the goals of Oman
Vision 2040 and bolstering pathways for economic diversification and
sustainability.

The two sides also discussed future
areas of cooperation, including measuring progress envisaged to be made in implementing
circular economy practices, leveraging international experiences and benchmarks,
analyzing the opportunities and challenges associated with the application of
the relevant policy and studying the impact of the same on the competitiveness
of economic sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
