Amman, Oct. 12 (Petra) – The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF), the
Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Department of
Antiquities signed a cooperation agreement at the Martyrs’ Memorial
in Amman on Monday.
The partnership intends to boost institutional collaboration in
preserving national memory, documenting Jordan’s military history,
modernizing museum displays, conserving historic artifacts, and
memorializing the sacrifices of JAF’s martyrs.
Under the agreement, the entities will collaborate on researching and
archiving military documents, providing technical support for
artifact maintenance and restoration, exchanging technical expertise,
and holding specialized training programs for personnel.
The agreement also officially adds the Martyrs’ Memorial to Jordan’s
cultural and military tourism routes, integrating the site into local
and international tourism marketing campaigns. The signatories will
also coordinate joint exhibitions, events, and tour group receptions
to promote Jordan’s military history.
This partnership reflects the national commitment to safeguard
Jordan’s military heritage and elevate the Martyrs’ Memorial as a
premier cultural landmark, allowing future generations and
international visitors to learn about the Kingdom’s history and the
sacrifices of its fallen soldiers.
