Press Association, Omani Embassy explore media cooperation

Amman, Oct. 12 (Petra) – President of the Jordan Press Association
(JPA) Tariq Momani and Minister Plenipotentiary and Omani Deputy Head
of Mission in Jordan Badr bin Hilal Busaidi explored on Monday ways
to boost media and press cooperation.

Momani lauded the deep historical relations between Jordan and Oman,
noting the importance of expanding joint programs between the JPA and
the Oman Journalists Association.

He outlined the JPA’s role in regulating and protecting the
journalism profession while supporting media professionals.

Momani stressed the responsibility of media outlets to adhere to
truth and credibility, particularly amid the rapid growth of
artificial intelligence (AI) and the challenges posed by widespread
disinformation.

Busaidi, for his part, voiced the Omani Embassy’s commitment to
advancing press relations.

He called for regular exchange visits between Jordanian and Omani
journalists, noting the potential joint opportunities in professional
training, skill development, and knowledge sharing to build a
stronger media partnership.
