Khartoum (SUNA) – Member of Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jaber chaired the regular meeting of the Economic Performance Monitoring Committee. The meeting discussed a range of current economic issues, particularly measures to improve citizens’ livelihoods and provide them with a decent standard of living. Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities Khalid Al-Eisir said in a press statement that the meeting examined ways to expand electronic revenue collection across all states, as well as complete preparations at all border crossings and land ports to regulate trade with neighbouring countries. The minister said the meeting stressed the need to raise public awareness of the benefits of the Baldna platform and its positive impact, as well as the importance of adopting electronic payments through the Esali revenue collection service to protect public funds, serve citizens and combat all forms of public fund wastage. He added that the meeting highlighted the importance of regulating commercial and personal bank transfers on the basis of official documentation, alongside requiring banks to improve banking services as part of efforts to strengthen the national economy.
