Jordan, UAE talk aviation cooperation

Amman, Oct. 13 (Petra) – Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC)
Board of Commissioners Chair Daifallah Farajat and UAE Ambassador to
Jordan Sultan Shamsi discussed on Tuesday expanding air transport
cooperation.

Farajat and Shamsi lauded the high volume of air traffic between
Jordan and the UAE, accounting for roughly 14 percent of total
operations at Queen Alia International Airport, making the Emirates
the second-largest destination market for airlines operating to and
from Jordan.

The talks pointed to a strategic partnership anchored by a 1972
bilateral air services agreement. Updated continuously over the
decades, the pact streamlined passenger and cargo transit while
driving growth in trade and tourism.

Farajat welcomed Shamsi to his new diplomatic post, wishing him
success in boosting Jordanian and Emirati ties.

Both sides pledged commitment to coordination and exchanging
commemorative plaques to celebrate their diplomatic relations.
