Meeting Held on Investment Opportunities in A’Suwaiq Industrial City
A’Suwaiq,
14 Oct 2026 (ONA) — The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”
organized today the second introductory meeting for a number of investors and
business owners regarding investment opportunities in A’Suwaiq Industrial City.
The
meeting aimed to highlight the city’s capabilities as one of the modern
industrial cities developed by “Madayn” in North Al Batinah
Governorate to enhance the attractiveness of the investment environment in the
Sultanate of Oman and support economic diversification efforts by providing
integrated infrastructure that meets the needs of industrial, logistical, and
service investments.
During
the meeting, Munther Ali Al Nasri, Acting Director General of A’Suwaiq
Industrial City, pointed out that the city succeeded during the current year in
attracting new investment projects with investments exceeding RO 1.4 million,
across leased areas exceeding 80 thousand square meters, bringing the total
cumulative investments in the city to over RO 2 million, while total leased
areas exceeded 90 thousand square meters.
He
stated that the new projects encompass various industrial activities, including
the production of polyethylene, refining of industrial oils, modification of
polymers for bitumen, and manufacturing of ceramic tiles. He explained that the
city’s management is currently evaluating a number of investment applications
across diverse sectors, including the manufacturing of electric motors and
generators, production of carbonated and soft drinks, and the manufacturing of
cosmetics and hand and foot care products, noting that these applications
reflect growing investor interest in available opportunities within the city.
For
his part, Eng. Abdullah Mohammed Al Farsi affirmed that “Madayn” is
working in coordination with relevant authorities in both the public and
private sectors to accelerate the provision of basic services for A’Suwaiq
Industrial City and facilitate investment-related procedures, alongside intensifying
promotional and awareness efforts regarding available investment opportunities
and advantages. These efforts fall within the city’s direction toward
attracting value-added industrial projects, diversifying its industrial
activities, and boosting the industrial sector’s contribution to the local
economy, in addition to creating new opportunities for small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) and developing supply chains and supporting services for the
industrial sector.
He
added that A’Suwaiq Industrial City enjoys a strategic location in the
Sultanate of Oman that provides easy access to main transportation networks,
population centers, regional markets, and export outlets, as its strategic
location contributes to elevating supply chain efficiency, facilitating
commercial operations, and supporting the growth of the industrial sector.
A’Suwaiq
Industrial City, which covers a total allocated area of approximately 12.2
million square meters, represents a qualitative addition to the system of
industrial cities in the Sultanate of Oman, where “Madayn” is
undertaking the development of Phase One over an area estimated at nearly 1.3
million square meters. The city is expected to contribute to attracting
investments and boosting economic opportunities through its competitive
incentives and advanced infrastructure, supporting the creation of direct and
indirect job opportunities for citizens and enabling entrepreneurs to establish
innovative projects, alongside its role in diversifying income sources and
raising non-oil revenues for the national economy.
