Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) — Amman Vision Treatment and Recycling
Company has installed 15 reverse vending machines for plastic bottles
and aluminum cans as part of a plan to deploy 200 machines over the
next two years.
The initiative, launched in partnership with UAE-based Sparklo, aims
to encourage residents to sort recyclable waste at source by offering
reward points redeemable for shopping discounts and other incentives
through the Sparklo mobile app, the company said Monday.
The first 15 machines are already operational at shopping malls,
universities, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations and Marka Airport.
Amman Vision CEO Amjad Anasweh said the initiative seeks to
strengthen waste management, reduce littering and promote recycling
and the circular economy in line with national environmental
objectives.
He said the company plans to expand the network across Jordan through
public-private partnerships, helping divert recyclable materials from
landfills and encouraging wider public participation in waste
sorting.
Anasweh emphasized the importance of private-sector involvement in
developing recycling projects and improving waste recovery, calling
on businesses to support environmental initiatives through strategic
partnerships and corporate social responsibility programs.
Such partnerships, he added, would allow companies to contribute to
environmental protection while linking their brands to sustainability
initiatives that deliver measurable benefits to communities.
