Cairo, October 19 (QNA) – The 19th meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee of Arab Health Ministers’ Council commenced on Monday via video conference. The meeting serves as a preparatory step for the 65th ordinary session of the Arab Health Ministers’ Council and its Executive Bureau, scheduled to be held on November 10 at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
In a statement, the League of Arab States indicated that the two-day meeting will address several priority health issues. Key topics include an Arab strategy to leverage the expertise of Arab health professionals living abroad, aimed at supporting health sectors across the Arab region for the 2026-2030 period, as well as an Arab strategy to improve the health of mothers, children, and adolescent girls in the region. The meeting will also explore ways to support the health sector in Sudan.
Furthermore, the meeting will review reports from bodies affiliated with Arab Health Ministers’ Council, including the Arab Blood Transfusion Services Authority, the Arab Board of Health Specializations, and the Arab Center for the Authoring and Translation of Health Sciences. It will also discuss the unified statement to be delivered on behalf of the Council at the 80th World Health Assembly, scheduled to take place in Geneva next May. (QNA)
