France imposes partial curfews in Paris, northern cities following widespread unrest

Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) — French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu
announced a partial curfew across several northern cities on Monday
and Tuesday nights, following severe rioting and civil unrest.

According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Lecornu’s office stated that
a partial curfew from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (18:00 to 04:00 GMT) will be
enforced over the two nights in four northern cities, including
Lille.

Additionally, Paris police announced a partial nighttime curfew and
banned public demonstrations in several capital neighborhoods as the
French government seeks to restore order following some of the worst
violence the country has seen in years.

The Paris Police Prefecture detailed that the partial curfew in the
capital will run from 11:00 PM (21:00 GMT) on Monday until 6:00 AM on
Tuesday across designated districts. Demonstrations and public
gatherings have also been prohibited in specific neighborhoods of
Paris from 8:00 PM Monday through 6:00 AM Tuesday.
