Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) – As Jordan laid the victims from the church
terrorist attack to rest on Sunday in Hmoud, Karak Governorate,
Government Communication Minister Mohammad Momani extended
condolences and vowed swift justice.
In a post on X, Momani described the funeral as “a farewell that has
grieved the hearts of all Jordanians.”
He offered sympathy to His Majesty King Abdullah II, HRH Crown Prince
Al Hussein, the victims’ families, and the people of Karak, saying
that “this is a loss shared by all Jordanians.”
“The memory of our martyrs will remain alive in our hearts and
consciences, and their names and stories will forever be part of the
nation’s memory, preserved with love and loyalty,” Momani wrote.
Reflecting on the gathering in Hmoud, the minister noted that
Jordanians showed their true character, standing as “one family in
grief and calamity, united by the pain of loss and the sincerity of
chivalry and brotherhood.”
He added that this display affirmed to the world that “our unity is a
deeply rooted reality in the conscience of our people, impervious to
terrorism, strife, and extremism.”
Momani warned that “the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist crime
will not escape punishment,” stressing that “protecting the lives,
security, and dignity of Jordanians remains a national responsibility
with no room for leniency.”
He closed his message saying “may God have mercy on our martyrs,”
wishing for the recovery of the injured, solace for the community in
Hmoud, and lasting protection for Jordan and its citizens.
