Doha, October 25 (QNA) – The Theater Affairs Center at the Ministry of Culture has launched a puppetry workshop designed to foster creativity, build artistic and technical skills, and furnish participants with tools to think outside the box and bring new theatrical experiences to life.
Running through Thursday, the workshop explores the fundamentals and techniques of puppet manipulation, familiarizing participants with the world of puppet theater, including its forms, aesthetic features and technical requirements.
The sessions will cover the fundamentals of puppet manipulation and a range of techniques, building the knowledge and skills needed to understand the art form and what it takes to bring puppets to life on stage.
The workshop also aims to sharpen participants’ creative instincts, strengthen their capacity to think outside the box and channel their artistic imagination into novel ideas and experiences. It further seeks to spur initiative and encourage participants to undertake artistic projects that draw on the skills acquired during the sessions.
Through exposure to diverse artistic and theatrical forms, participants will deepen their understanding of puppetry, explore the puppet’s performance space and examine how set design and scenography shape a production’s visual identity and aesthetic appeal.
The workshop seeks to unlock new prospects for participants to translate their skills into theatrical projects while broadening their understanding of puppetry techniques and the creative possibilities of the art form. (QNA)
