Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) – The Bishop Coadjutor of the Episcopal
Diocese of Jerusalem, Bishop Hosam Naoum, has condemned the terrorist
attack that targeted the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George in
Hamoud town in Karak Governorate.
In a statement Sunday, Bishop Naoum stated the attack constitutes a
violation of the worship sanctity, the sacredness of human life, and
the human dignity bestowed by God upon every individual.
He said the attack on peaceful worshippers is an assault on the
societ’s security and unity, as well as on the fraternity and
coexistence values that characterize Jordan.
He also affirmed this crime won’t undermine unity of the Jordanian
people, nor the cohesion of their national fabric, nor sow fear or
division among the citizens of the same nation.
He noted that Christians and Muslims in Jordan are partners in the
land, history, and citizenship, bound together by ties of brotherhood
and mutual respect.
