Occupied Jerusalem, February 20 (QNA) – Some 100,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem said that around 100,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers despite the restrictions and stringent measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the entry of worshippers, and their prevention of West Bank residents from accessing the mosque.
The occupation forces prevented thousands of worshippers from reaching the Al Aqsa Mosque this afternoon, turning back thousands at the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of occupied Jerusalem, and the checkpoint separating Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
It is worth noting that the occupation forces have intensified their military measures in and around Jerusalem, and at the gates of the Al Aqsa Mosque, to prevent worshippers from reaching it. In recent days, they have issued more than 300 Jerusalemites with orders barring them from entering the Al Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan. (QNA)
