Tokyo, July 23 (QNA) – The draw for the men’s handball competition at the 20th Asian Games, to be held in Japan from September 19 to October 4, has placed Qatar at the top of Group A alongside hosts Japan, China, and Hong Kong.
Group B features Bahrain, Kuwait, South Korea, Iran, and Kazakhstan.
Qatar aims to defend its title, having claimed consecutive Asian Games titles in Incheon 2014, Jakarta 2018, and Hangzhou 2022.
The Qatari national team will seek to retain the gold medal and further strengthen its remarkable record on the continental and international stage. Qatar has won a record six consecutive Asian Championship titles in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024. The team also achieved the silver medal at the 2015 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship, hosted in Qatar. (QNA)
