Irbid, June 25 (Petra) – Irbid First Awqaf Directorate announced 243 summer centers for Quran memorization are prepared in its mosques at the northern governorate level.
In a statement Wednesday, Director Omar Hammouri said a total of 103 summer centers are allocated for men, while 140 others will receive women across the directorate’s various areas.
These centers, he noted, mainly aim to teach Quranic sciences, rules of Holy Quran recitation, and Islamic etiquette, whilch would “optimally” invest participants’ free time.
On the supervision mechanism, he stated the facilities will be overseen by “qualified” imams, preachers, and orators, who hold degrees in Islamic law and Quranic studies and have educational and behavioral guidance skills.
Urging students to join the programs at the nearest designated mosque in their residence areas, he noted these centers will begin teaching early next week and will continue until mid-August on a 3-day basis per week.
