Tunis, August 26 (QNA) – The 39th meeting of the Arab Experts Group on Counterterrorism kicked off Tuesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunis.

In a statement, the General Secretariat of the Arab League said the two-day meeting is addressing several issues, including discussing measures taken to implement the recommendations of the 38th meeting, held Feb. 10-11 at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat in Cairo.

The statement said the meeting would also seek to further strengthen cooperation with the United Nations and its bodies and committees involved in counterterrorism, as well as with international and regional organizations.

It will also examine the use of cutting-edge technologies, the Internet and AI in terrorist recruitment and address challenges related to cyberattacks and cyber intrusions by terrorist organizations targeting state institutions.

The statement added that the meeting would review Arab countries’ experiences, perspectives and best practices in counterterrorism, as well as explore ways to develop and strengthen the work of the Arab Experts Group on Counterterrorism. (QNA)
