4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Peru’s Coast

Lima, July 23 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Peru Thursday.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the epicenter was located 78 kilometers west of Puerto Casma, at a depth of 62 kilometers.

According to Initial reports, there have been no casualties or material damage so far.

Peru experiences at least 400 earthquakes per year, which are felt by the population, as it lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a seismic activity zone that stretches along the west coast of the American continent. (QNA)
